Rust Manor House Wedding | Kayla and Greg

The beautiful Rust Manor House located in Leesburg, Loudoun County, Virginia provided the perfect backdrop for Kayla and Greg's winter wedding last month. Kayla and Greg's love story blossomed over time. They met at work and what started as a friendship developed into something much more as they got to know each other, work out and watch movies together. As their connection grew stronger, Kayla knew Greg was the one! Kayla and Greg are total foodies and they love to try different cuisines which pairs perfectly with their love of traveling. They look forward to their upcoming honeymoon in Montreal and I cannot wait to hear all about it!

This was my first time photographing at Rust Manor House and I absolutely love working at this venue, Jackie, Paul and the rest of the staff were amazing! When I photograph weddings I always like to do something different and creative while incorporating the unique elements of the venue to give my couples images that are new and fresh. Whenever possible, I prefer to tour a new venue before the wedding day and Jackie graciously accepted my request to tour Rust Manor a few weeks before Kayla and Greg's wedding. I was immediately drawn to the many architectural details including the original wood flooring, trim details and large grand three-story staircase. These were elements I knew I had to incorporate into Kayla and Greg's wedding day story.

With Kayla and Greg's patience, and me sprinting up and down the staircase several times to fine tune my lighting setup, we were able to get an amazing photograph of them looking up towards my camera with big wedding day smiles as I used a second flash to add a pop of color to the usually white painted walls, staircase trim and balusters. The bridal suite is nicely decorated, spacious and has large windows with wonderful natural light which enabled us to take some beautiful bridal portraits. There are many great areas for photography on the surrounding grounds. Luckily, Mother Nature fully cooperated and provided some snow a few days before this winter wedding while giving everyone a dry, albeit brisk wedding day that allowed us to quickly take some great photos on the Rust Manor grounds.

Congratulations to Kayla and Greg! Thank you again for the opportunity to document your special day and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

A very big thank you to Jackie, Paul and the rest of the Rust Manor House staff for all of your help, I really appreciate it!
